The following is from Kirk Stein, one of the local folks in Marysville that helped put on the race-

I would like to personally thank Ernie and Brandie Fields, Gary and Bev Padgett, Jim and Michelle Ely, and Jim and Marilyn. Without there experience and there dedication to this sport the Worlds this year would have suffered incredibly. Gary spent days on the timing boats with Jim and Marilyn ensuring everything was kept track of as well as hours behind the scenes helping sort through the penalties  each night. Bev and Brandie spent everyday all day out in the Northern California heat keeping track of time on the top end of every leg, then hours back at the hotel tallying everything up. and coordinating it all to the press, both local and in many cases internationally. Jim and Michelle Ely spent the first three days of the races helping us out in more ways then we will probably ever know, Late night trips to office depot etc... Jim and Michelle's knowledge of the rules kept us on track and allowed us to make the right decision on several very tricky penalties.
To the racers themselves, I thank them for there patience and for there sportsmanship, as in every event there are instances of people that probably should not step up and help another team, do it anyway despite the differences they have had in the past or the time to that point what a class act.
To anyone that I forgot to mention here, know that your help was appreciated and if you ever need help do not hesitate to ask me for it.

Thanks again,
Kirk Stein
